:wavey: Ha Ha - GOOD POINT Maggie !!!! lol Just found out that train will cost about £30 then tube and possibly taxi plus parking at train station plus stress lol - might phone notary tomorrow to find out how much they'd charge for doing it for me ! and shouldn't take that long now as I have done the legalization at Milton Keynes myself ! Hello everyone, The notary i used stamped the document, had the arabic part translated to check all was ok it was spot on, sent it to the embassy by courier, returned by courier all stamped up back in 1 week all for £220.00. no stress

£220 no stress!! could have done it in Hurghada for that and a holiday thrown in . Does any one know how long it takes for the CVS.

The cost in doing it yourself is probably higher ( looking at mine - petrol , train fares etc ) without the tube in London and possible cab have already reached the £ 200 mark ! But I didn't do it to cut costs I decided to do it myself because I was told it would take about 3 weeks for it all to come back ! Anyway I think I will make my life a bit easier by letting the notary deal with the Egyptian Consulate now and not worry so much any more !!! lol - Think Maggie's :idea: - is the option I should have gone for - WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT ??????? - Anyway better make that phone call - take care all until soon !!!! ....

Well my notary - good man :adore: - will sort my POA out now - so no trip to London for me tomorrow ! It'll cost me £ 30 for his fees and £ 20 for the stamp ! GREAT !!! Problem solved and NO STRESS anymore !!!! So all together I will have paid £ 148 - which is not bad at all !!!! And instead of wasting my time getting lost in London I can now relax a bit ( hurray !! ) x Lesson learned - Doing it yourself is NOT always the best way x Until soon no doubt - take care :wavey:

the CVS -COURT VALIDATEY SUITE. is when your lawyer takes your contract to court and have it validated/ stamped to prove its the original contract and then in say 6months time no one can come and say they own your apartment. As what happened in the Regency Towers develoment it costs ( are you sitting down) about £500 but its worth it I,m sure solicitor would have mentioned it. I didnt go with the solicitor that GDI recommened even though he is a very good honest solicitor, but the last time I went with the solicitor the agent recommened I lost my apartment so now i,m trying to sue him. Thats way I went to Hurghada to give my solicitor the POA so he can do every thing for me includeing that

I think Tarek is ok - he certainly communicates well and seems very open ! But I understand your concerns if you have had trouble before !
What happened with the other solicitor ????
I have an apartment in Pamporovo Bulgaria ( it's been ready last 2 years ) but lots of issues still with builder and management company - Have got solicitor who just doesn't reply at all !!!!!!!!! Have phoned etc but he doesn't seem pro active at all !!! I have the deeds but sometimes it worries me for someone else having POA !!! ....

We our arrangements for a site visit with the Hurghada office of Sun Homes who were our agents for the purchase. They were very helpful - they collected us from our hotel and spent the best part of the morning showing us around. Is this not something you could arrange with your agents? My impression at the time was that the site managers do not like people just wandering on to the site - health and safety etc.
