Ice Cream n Egypt in the Summer - ???

Wonder how long it'll take before there's a Starbucks there - like the UK, they're everywhere in the Middle East :D Think they'd be an expensive franchise though. Like the ice cream van idea!

Icecreams in summer last about 5 min before they melt away - too quick for me to enjoy.

Hi .. anyone hav a good website so i can check out Commercial Bars/Rest etc Hurghada & Sharm Rent / Lease { all i am finding is Residential }

Any good info appreciated

Thks
:p

OTE=propertastic;47679]If anyone is looking for some business ideas, here are some things that we would like to see in Hurghada.

1. A little cinema showing English language movies. I know that there are some plans for one in some developments, but we can't wait that long. We want one right now!

2. An English language free newspaper. The Russians already have one - Komsomolovskaya Pravda - which is a fortnightly 32-pager and seems to be doing very well from the amount of advertising in each issue.

3. The girlfriend needs some decent clothes/shoe shops. There aren't really many mid-market shops in this area - just the trashy stuff with fake D&G, Prada, Armani, etc.

4. Some place for the high-rollers to go. I don't know why there aren't more casinos here when there are loads in Sharm. The fanciest place around at the moment seems to be Little Buddha, but it just seems to be an over-priced Chinese restaurant crossed with a provincial disco to me.

5. There still seems to be the opportunity for a decent English/Irish pub. The best that Hurghada has to offer in this respect - Papa's, PJ's and the Winking Frog all leave a lot to be desired still.[/QUOTE]

I heard a rumour a while back that Felfela was up for sale.

This is definitely the most coolest building with the coolest views in all of Hurghada. Unfortunately, the food is terrible and the waiters hopeless (even by Hurghada standards) so it's the waste of a really great resource.

My dream would be for someone to buy it and turn it into a really cool and exclusive restaurant/club/bar, etc.

Currently the coolest place in Hurghada is Hurghada Marina, no doubt about it (and not just beause this is where I live!)

Or do they have independant Bars there ,,, its not easy if they dont

Anymore info would be appreciated ,,, thks

Three British people have rented buildings in El Gouna and turned them into bars. Their license only allows them to sell Egyptian alcohol and not imported brands.

You can read about Richard who runs the Smugglers English Pub in an article I wrote for the latest issue of elgounamag on page 29.

The others are Boxers Bar in Downtown and a new bar called Oasis behind China House restaurant, El Gouna.

That doesn't sound right to me.

The majority of restaurants, cafes and bars in Hurghada offer alcohol - they can't all be licensed as hotels.

decent pub wanted with quality staff

a really good irish pub is needed on the sekalla road. with papas moving into the marina locals and tourists alike are crying for a high quality pub on the sekalla road. it must have..

split screened footy matches so we can watch other teams play apart from man u and chelsea (however england and liverpool matches shall be screened at all costs)

air conditioning that is turned on during summer

a foreign chef that makes really good food rather than tired old recipes

owner managers that train the local staff and are welcoming to local people

cold guinness and a good selection of malt whiskies and a bottle of jack daniels

a high quality authentic irish bar feel, you know, like the ones you find in spain, or england

barmaids

a decent sound system with a large selection of music, including some music released in the last 12 months

...quality sells, anyone coming up with a top bar that they have invested some proper money into will clean up..at present I take my girlfriend to Shades in the marina. They are the only bar that can serve a decent vodka, lime and soda, and their food is also top notch. I dont mind paying their prices, as the service and ambience makes it worthwile.

selling booze

i drink here in all the bars, none of which are hotels, or in hotels. most do not sell import liqour officially, however venues with nightclub licenses do...if they do not sell import you can always bring it into the bar/club and pay corkage, if they let you..which most do.

opening a bar/restaurant here needs a visit of a few months..dont bother looking on websites

papas moved to the marina for three reasons..their lease had finished, the owners of the marina management own papas, and also they are building the new hed kandi beach club in the marina, with papas right opposite.

if someone was looking to open up a bar here, and have limited knowledge of hurghada, the marina would be their best bet.

Hurghada Marina Boulevard : Hurghada, Red Sea, Egypt i think...
