its beside Metro SupermarketWhere is it? We will go and see them next week.
It looks as though you could buy as many cars as you like but how do you get around the licensing and registering problem (legally)?

Thanks,Buying a car in Egypt is no problem, it's the registration process that is a nightmare, I recomend hiring a lawyer who specialises in these proceedures, or like I did, buy through official dealer and they will help you with all the paperwork, I changed my car in February and VW agents Easyway were marvelous, they have a great guy who is expert at getting to the front of large crowds waiting at windows, quite entertaining really and it helped pass the time, as it took 3 days to sort the buying and selling out, including a 15min interview with the security police. Incidently, depreciation is very low, I lost £600 in two years on a new car with 12k on the clock!
Thanks Rob,Easyway is the official VW dealer, and at the moment his office is above Cheeky Monkeys and by the side of Iraida near Sekalla Square, but I know they are having a new showrooms built the other side of Hurghada. Ashraf has helped me buy 3 cars and athough it's an experience, they made it a lot easier. Failing that find a lawyer who will do it for you, it,s not expensive but ask price first.

We live in Cairo at the moment and are, hopefully, moving to El Gouna by the end of May. Our duty free status car needs to be sold and we need to buy a private car. We have run out of time to buy on our residents visas.
We have been told that you have to be able to register/license the car and that you cannot do this if you have a resident tourist visa which is all we seem to be eligible for.
Can anyone please help because my head is spinning with visas, cars, freight, house buying, etc.
Waiting in anticipation of a solution!!!!

to rent long term you will pay 3000 - 4000LE......I pay 3500LE for a Hyundai Matrix from a local firm.
to buy a car, one way is to form a company, and then you can put the car in the company name..then you can also buy it through bank finance, and pay off the rest on interest...the lady that I rent from also arranges these deals.
PM me for details.
