Fortaleza to host ADIT Brasil Invest 2011

The city of Fortaleza in the state of Ceará has been confirmed to host 2011 ADIT Brasil Invest (previous Nordeste Invest). The announcement was made last Friday, the 23rd, during an ADIT Brasil Board of Directors meeting. It will be officially announced on the 5th of August at VII International Real Estate and Tourism Investment Meeting in Florianópolis.

“We are aware of the importance of hosting events such as ADIT Brasil Invest. In the last years, Ceará has become known as an important tourist destination, due to its governmental policies to uphold the high standards of the sector. The decision to be hosting ADIT’s event in our state is to attract more investments for the State”, declared the secretary of tourism of Ceará, Bismarck Maia.

The government of Ceará, via the Secretary of Tourism, has agreed to support and sponsor ADIT Brasil Invest 2011, aside from guaranteeing the logistics and infrastructure to receive the event, which discusses nationwide real estate and tourism investments.

This year (2010) it was held in Natal, and last year (2009) in Recife. When I went to the Recife event (at the behest of the Pernambuco State Tourism Board EMPETUR),it appeared to me that this is more of a show for invited corporate investors, developers and other professionals, rather than the individual buyer.

I think it is mainly geared at corporate investors, don't think they are even trying to attract the individual investor.
