Hello,

I am an owner an apartment in Princess Tower in Dubai. The project was supposed to be delivered by June 2009 (or extended delivery date of Nov 2009). It was not, and Tameer (the developer) is setting the delivery date of Aug 2011.
The new delivery date does not work for me, and I have asked them to return my money that I have paid so far. However, I have not heard back from them.
What is the best course of action? I am looking into legal action, and I would like to find a good local attorney. Any suggestions?
Also, other Princess Tower owners, please contact me, so we can form a group.

Thanks,
Rmain

the best course of action would be, to wait and take the handover atleast they are delivering , --- at the best try to negotiate the price with them , its a waste of time n money to go for legal action ,

Thank you for your feedback. After dealing with Tameer for the last 3-4 years, I do not much confidence in their new delivery date. What is it there to stop them from extending the delivery date to another date (say 2015)?
Let me know why you think it is waste of time and money to take legal action.

Hi, I am also looking for a property lawyer or a local attorney to take action against my developer, if you come across any please send me the details and if I come across someone I will forward his details to you.

Best of luck.

Hi, I am in the same situation, and would like to take part of the group. Taameer has promised a luxurious finishing. In todays market condition, quality is key. Do you know if Taameer might compromise on quality?

same situation

I bought an unit in "The Cube" (SPorts City) and after a 24 month delay, I have just been communicated that the project has been put on hold - actually the letter is not very clear, but they refer to a need of temporarily renting out workers and devices, which will lead to a suspension in the project.

I am a lawyer in my own country and have the contact references of two firms which have a well kown RE department.

raminj lets look at it this way to answer your first post ,if you can hire an average lawyer in Dubai ,who perform average or most certainly below average may or may not know about local rules and new regulations so that he can make a case against a developer like TAMEER who have at least 20 possessional lawyers tackling cases on everyday basis. who do you think will win?i can only see you losing more money on top of what you have lost to make matters even worse.

most probably the developer is well protected since the documents you have signed and agreed to in the contract was written by professorial lawyers and it cover most risks to the developer.so going to court wont help much as you have agreed to most things.

the best way to resolve it is by either waiting for new laws to come out from regulators in Dubai to resolve disputes of similar nature that has effected many in Dubai.

or you keep on waiting till the developer finishes the project ,if they say next year
it could mean next year or three years from now ,you will never know and most probably the developer doesn't know too.

but IMHO i see your additional money to lawyers a waste ,

but at the end you know what is your specific case and may need to seek a professional advise and any suggestions here should not be taken seriously as we are not your professional advisers.

if a project goes on hold it can theoretically do so forever ,if any developer doesn't finish a project in such favorable environment of low cost , when will they be able to do so you might ask.

when inflation comes the chance of completion approaches zero

use your smiles it can make your post attractive
