Beyoncé raises $10 million with Manhattan apartment sale

While Beyoncé may have hit the headlines of late with an $88 million mansion purchase in Los Angeles and $26 million investment in an East Hampton holiday home, it would appear that she has also raised $10 million with the sale of her Manhattan apartment. Beyoncé and her superstar partner Jay Z may well be busy with their newborn twins but it seems that real estate is still a vital part of their personal and private life.

One Beacon Court

The Manhattan apartment is situated on the 44th floor of One Beacon Court in Midtown East with exceptional views over Central Park and the East River. We know from official records that the property was acquired for $5.09 million back in 2005 so a $10 million sale today would double Beyoncé’s investment in 12 years. When you bear in mind the volatility of the real estate market over the last decade this would not be a bad return in relative terms.

Inside the property

The Manhattan apartment has 2669 ft.² of living space, three bedrooms and was designed by Paris-based designer Jacques Grange. The apartment block has been open since 2005 and boasts a private courtyard, 24-hour doorman, concierge, fitness centre, business centre, playroom and valet parking. When you bear in mind that many celebrity investors are looking for privacy, security and style, this apartment block and Beyoncé’s apartment seem to tick all of the boxes. If we tell you the property was sold in just 11 days this perfectly illustrates what we mean!

Style and image

We can see from the images available that this corner apartment has everything, floor-to-ceiling windows, stylish brown wooden flooring and white decor throughout and, because of its location on the corner, some of the most breathtaking scenes you could hope for. While there are few images of the apartment furnished, you do get the impression that it is high-class and obviously value for money when you bear in mind the relatively quick sale.

There are some images of the ensuite bathroom which is eye catching, functional and the brown wood drawers perfectly complement the marble tops and marble tiles. The old-style taps bring a little age to the bathroom which gives the property a little something different.

The kitchen

The kitchen area opens out onto the floor to ceiling windows offering you exquisite views over the city while you cook. There is every piece of equipment you could ever hope for in a kitchen and there must be dozens of storage facilities, more than we have ever seen before. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer an abundance of natural light and for those cooking projects which take time, there is a TV to entertain you while you wait.

What next for Beyoncé?

Despite the fact that Beyoncé is one of the richest women in the world she still seems to have a very strong appetite for real estate investment. The two recent huge purchasers caught the headlines although the sale of her Manhattan apartment, for a mere $10 million, seems to have slipped under the radar. It is a shame there are no images of the property furnished but the space, style and the floor-to-ceiling windows perfectly illustrate why it was snapped up as soon as it went on the market.
