As the Caribbean economies stand on the verge of collapse because of the US led investigation into Allen Stanford and his Stanford Group, would you still invest in the Caribbean on a long term basis?
There is a feeling that many of these smaller economies are very close to a small band of business people and business groups leaving themselves wide open to events such as the investigation into Allen Stanford's business affairs. Is it really safe to base a whole economy on one man and one group, which Antigua seems to have done?
It must be pointed out that at this moment in time Allen Stanford has not been found guilty of any criminal activity, even though the stories are growing and the rumours persist.
