For Tangiers
Against Tangiers
For Tangiers
- A range of costal developments are already in construction in and around Tangiers
- A hydrofoil brings in up to 500 tourists a day from Malaga in Spain, and the car ferry from Tariffa takes only 35 mins.
- The planned rail tunnel from Punta Palomas in Spain will bring in many more visitors from Europe.
- Tangiers’ Mayor has a proven track record of overseeing successful regeneration projects in Morocco, having overseen Marrakech’s recent improvements.
Against Tangiers
- Construction work on the planned rail tunnel to Spain won’t begin until at lease 2008.
- Improvements to the city, such as moving the freight port, are still very much in their infancy.
- Although Tangiers airport is just a three hour flight from the UK, there are relatively few flights here compared to other Moroccan airports such as Marrakech and Fez.
