A country can only be measured 'in the bad times'. It is only then that we see their true colours.
What then can we say about dubai?
What can we say about home owners forced to leave because they lost their job and the false promise of residency was a lie all along.
What can we say about so called major real estate developers treating their customers with disdain and stealing their money.
What can we say about the thousands of genuine buyers who secured a mortgage, put down their deposit for the bank to change LTV thus costing their customers to default and lose hundreds of thousands of dirhams.
What can we say about protection policies for locals in jobs whether qualified for them or not.
What can we say about arbitary reductions of credit card limits and overdrafts without warning for those still employed and paying their bills.
What can we say about the UAE. Who will ever trust in them again. UAE is once again a place to get in, earn some money and get out. It has lost all appeal as a lifestyle choice.
What conclusion can we come to? All i can imagine is that they really do not want the foreigners here - never really did. This is the only explanation i can come up with for wave after wave of 'tough ****' thinking.
