Those who are able to keep a level head while others around them lose theirs are the ones who will deliver the best returns in the longer term. Stripping emotion out of any property investment transaction is easier said than done but do not forget that property investment should be seen as a long-term commitment. However, that does not mean to say you can't change your strategy if the short term situation changes dramatically but make sure you don't rush into anything without thinking it through.

Sometimes you need to be ruthless in the investment world and therefore any emotional attachment to a purchase or sale can complicate matters. To keep things simple, think of property investments as boxes which you basically buy and sell without any attachment.

I agree with the idea of thinking of investments as boxes which you simply buy and sell. What is actually in the "box" should hold no emotional attachment to any investor.

You should never have an emotional attachment to any type of investment whether property, shares, etc. Once you start to mix emotion with your investment decisions this is a recipe for disaster. Keep it business like, based upon statistics and figures but with a little mixture of gut feeling.

There are some occasions where you will get a gut feeling about a potential property investment but on the whole emotion should not play a major role in your decision-making process.
