It can be dangerous to follow trends for the sake of it especially where additional costs will be incurred. If a holiday let trend is relatively short lived what do you do next?

I would recommend picking a traditionally popular holiday resort and looking for holiday lets in that area. You may not be able to charge premium rental rates but it is highly likely the area will remain popular in the longer term. Stability and a steady income is the name of the game.

Buy a property with good long-term prospects, gradually increase your rent and use your income to expand your portfolio. Jumping all over the UK property market to follow trends is very dangerous.

Never lose sight that property investment should be seen as a long-term process. Jumping from trend to trend can make you good money but if you get it wrong you could end up with significant losses.
