At this moment in time it looks as though the markets believe:-

1. Scotland will not gain independence
2. Brexit might not be as bad as many people thought
3. Brexit and independence might work out positive for Scotland in the long term

I for one have been very sceptical about the Scottish property market in the longer term but maybe the tide is turning and independence might reduce any confusion and concern surrounding the UK decision to leave the European Union?

I am not convinced, in the event of Scotland going independent there will be a significant rebalancing of investment across the UK. Scotland has a population which accounts for 10% of the overall UK population therefore will likely be prone to more volatility in the event of independence. Some property investors seem to think that Theresa May will not allow a second referendum on Scottish independence. Will they be proved correct?
