Renovating ruins

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience in renovating property (old ruins in particular)? I'm not too sure if many Brits are venturing overseas to renovate property, but I'd be extremely interested in talking to them if they are!

From what I have read in the past this type of property can be a nightmare with planning restrictions, hidden problems, issues with the locals and more. What turned your eye towards investing in ruins?
