We have been living in Andalucia for several years now but are finally fed up with the corruption in officialdom over here and seriously considering moving to Portugal. But we do not want to jump out of the frying pan in to the fire. What are your experiences of portuguese bureaucracy? Is it easy to get clear information on rules and regulations in Portugal? What about the property purchase process? Is there under declaring? Is it easy to get accurate information about the legality of ownership and status on any property or are there loads of properties still unregistered and thus not showing on portuguese land/property registry? Is there inherent systemic corruption and a complete lack of responsibility accepted amongst town halls in the same way it is in Spain?
