hello everyone,

My Ex Wife and I own an apartment in Dubai together which we always rented out so it can help pay for its mortgage.

Our old tenant has left and now she is refusing to sign the new rental contract (since her name is on the title deed, her signature and mine are required)

what can I do? the mortgage payments are still being paid (by me) but I can hardly afford to pay them if this goes on for much longer.

anyone with any experience with this? Pls help...

Sorry to hear the troubles you are having. Perhaps you should consider selling the property since your ex-wife does not wish to rent it out again. You could appoint a Power of Attorney to take care of this for you both so that neither of you are required to come to Dubai.

Another option is that you agree to buy your ex-wife out for a certain price and then do a "gift" transfer of the property of her 50% share to you. Again you can appoint a Power of Attorney to handle this for you...
