park homes / log cabins -- any experience?

Hi all!

Does anyone have experience with placing and using a non-permanent house (such as a park home, log cabin, other) on your own land?

A park home of the right specification may be a good alternative to building a permanent (stone) home. Or is it?

I dont have any personal experience but my friend has one and they love theirs. they say its like a second home. The company they used were called Scandinavian log cabins I think if you type that into google you will find them no problem .
