downtown burj / Old Town rents

The rental prices in the Downtown Burj area and Old Town have dropped more than 30-40% - 2 bedrooms with garden / maids room that used to rent for 220,000 - down to 150,000 with many to chose from and it's not summer yet... When more of the vacancies get rented... (if they get rented) a more accurate picture / index will emerge.... Prices for studios and one bedrooms have to become more reasonable if Dubai is to attract long term residents... US $1,000 per month for a studio in IC is still way too high...

the index doesn't reflect the full reality. i live in tecom, and the rental price i am paying is much lower than that. i guess it all comes back to the agent in charge of leasing the building.. if the building is new, and the developer is anxious to lease his units, than prices will definitely be 10 to 15 % lowers than the index states.
