HSBC increasing the minimal salary for a personal loan

Getting tougher and tougher to get cash in UAE.

HSBC has raised the minimum monthly salary someone in the UAE must earn to qualify for a personal loan to 20,000 dirhams ($5,445) due to the global credit crunch, the bank confirmed to Arabian Business on Monday.

Wow, I was just getting ready to request a loan, and thought AED 11,000 would be enough. Bummer.

I just checked with HSBC. They still give a loan for:
- medical reasons
- hajj trip
-....

Anyone was able to get a personal loan from HSBC to pay an installment?
