Hectare or more you can legally build?

Hello dear people,

I have read that if you own over a hectare or more you can legally build, as long as it is not restricted area. Is this a possible truth?

In the Algarve, at least, the situation is complicated - every area has restrictions so you need to be very specific.

Local regulations vary widely from area to area never mind country to country. Make sure you dont fall foul of the local regs!

If you are looking to invest overseas I would recommend using the services of a local property lawyer. They will advise about local regulations.
