I asked my freeholder for a quote to extend my lease and permission to convert my loft back in August 2014. To date I have paid their solicitor fees, my solicitor fees and their surveyor fees at their insistence. The survey and payment was all completed in October 2014.
Despite the fact I have already paid them and they require nothing further from me they still have not provided a quote. Both solicitors say the freeholder is still 'thinking about it'.
Could you advise me on my rights and if I have the right to give them a deadline within which time they need to respond?
Also my loft conversion project has now been delayed over 6 months due to the freeholders failure to respond. Can I start the work while I am waiting for a response?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
