Good news... Turkey has approved a new law in effect where foreigners who buy a property, can now stay and live in Turkey during 12 months around.
Before people who owned a property could only stay with a 3 month tourist visa that had caused several issues with buyers, wanting to use their property longer.
The resident permit gets extended yearly, as long as the property stays in your name.
With the following documents you can apply to, the foreigner department at the local police station or any Turkish consulate or embassy abroad.
If you have children their birth certificates and passport copy, if you have a wife your marriage certificate is required.

- Passport translation into Turkish (notary stamped)
- Tax ID number (from tax office)
- Tapu (the deed ownership)
- 4 wallet sized photos
- Health insurance policy
- 6000 usd money exchange receipt
