Medina d'Artisanat will be built within the tourist areas of Saïdia, under the terms of an agreement between the ministry for Tourism, the Craft industry and the social Economy and the Fadesa-Morocco Group.
The seaside resort will include a space for marketing products dedicated to the Moroccan craftsmen in order to emphasize their work. An average area of 20 to 25 m ² will be available for hiring at reasonable prices for each local shop owner, in addition to workshops dedicated to artisanal work and other shops dedicated to the sale of other products.
Fadesa aims at increasing a wider exposure to the products of the craft industry within the tourist’s hub, and to help improve the income of the craftsmen.
The Department of the Craft industry has recently signed a contract with Fadesa to ensure they vet out and list craftsmen of high competence, to contribute to the Medina d' Artisanat.
In addition, other similar agreements will be concluded soon for the tourist projects in Tamuda Bay and for the White Beach project in Guelmim.
