The UK authorities, via the Bank of England, base rates and regulations, have a number of ways to exert some control over the UK property market. However, do you trust the UK government to manage the UK property market?

If you look back in history you will see how governments have reduced interest rates to “assist investors” as we near general elections. Do not automatically assume that governments of the day are beyond reproach, they will do what it takes to get back into office.

The reality of the political system is that all parties will use the economy, taxes and investment markets to their benefit. So no I would not trust the government.
