I find the shortage of apprenticeships in the construction industry puzzling to say the least because both the industry and governments have known about this for many years now. They continue to talk about increasing the number of new builds knowing full well that there are insufficient apprenticeships for the future and sometimes the skill sets from apprenticeship courses do not match those required by the industry.
