Boats in Egypt - hurghada

Hi can anyone help with this question. I am looking at buying small speedboat have somewhere to keep it but have been told that non egyptian nationals cannot register ownership of a boat. Is this correct?

There are many foreign boat owners in El Gouna. Since the revolution the authorities are very strict with all the paperwork and many boats from both Egyptian and foreign owners have been unable to leave the marina until they have their up to date paperwork. If you are in Hurghada maybe go to the marina office for information?

You posted 2011, I heard, non Egyptian nationals cannot register ownership of a boat , it’s correct .but Is there new rule for it for 2014 ?

Yes, I think it is - for 2015 as well.
