Being more pushy on price or leaving London, an interesting subject. Recent reports suggest people are making use of the London property premium by selling up and buying larger properties outside of London for less money - however, there is evidence that this is pushing house prices higher in some popular areas outside of the capital.

I do wonder what the return would be on basically asset stripping those empty luxury homes. Pull out and fog all the expensive fixture and fittings then turn the shells in
to affordable bedsits with nice common areas.

I wonder if you might have problems getting clearance from the local authorities for such a change in use? Personally if the property is empty and not being used I dont see a problem - but those living in expensive houses next door might not think that way
