I thought in light of the continuous problems in the purchase of holiday homes in Hurghada and sharm, it was about time we touched on the subject of the legal side of Agents selling property and residing in Egypt.
On entry to Egypt it states on your entry visa that no work is permitted and to do so you have to apply for a working visa. This visa is granted following interviews and a heafty sum of money to set up a company.
Anyone who is looking to purchase a property from an Agent should be aware that he/she will have the relevant visa in their passport stating that they are authorized to work in egypt.
Im sure that any legitimate agent would have no problem in showing the client the correct paperwork. and i would like to think that they would make it a priority in order to put the client at ease.
Im sick and tired of Agents following what i would call the GOLD trail. from coutry to country just to line their own pockets. we all know the problems that developers have caused clients and how difficult if not impossible to bring them to justice for failing to deliver, even though a contract has been issued.
what chance then do you think clients will have trying to make Agents responsible for their actions. Going through the Egyptian legal system when the Agent has no been given authority to work in Egypt.
Im sure readers on here would like to hear from buyers who have done their homework and actually seen proof of employment.
This may not seem to be a big issue but if an Agent has nothing to hide and is doing his/her best for the client would have the correct documentation.
If you where buying a property in the UK you would expect everything to be legal and above board.
Im sure that this will rattle the cages of some Agents and im expecting some feedback but lets see who is offended by these comments, then we will all see who is genuine or not.
